Taking away the sunshine!

After pledging 10 years of loyalty to the sunshine tribe, I have decided to give it up. Due to the lack of attention from them (they had a campaign saying they 'listen' but no action), they made no attempt at retaining my loyalty so I decided to jump ship.

Goodbye Sunshine, Hello iPhone! believe you know the answer. And I have been using Apple products since 1999, so why not? now that's where my true loyalty lies :)

I'm about to change

After counting down to my wedding, now comes another. This time, it is my faithful 5 year old Daewoo (Kalos) counting down to his transformation. :) He has served me well for the past 5 years, its time for him to change to a set of 'clothes'. Look out for him!

21 June 2008 - UNITY

Finally the day has come and the dinner went well. All our effort for the past 1 year worth every minute spent on it. I want to archive our thank you speech (part 2) here.

U.N.I.T.Y.

If a single word is asked to describe the 21st of June 2008, this is the one.
The series of events that happened last sat, has left us with the best memories for the rest of our lives.
Its not only for the fact that its our wedding day, but its a day that we will remember – by the unity of our best friends and families coming together, celebrating and spending it meaningfully with us.

For that, we are re-announcing our thank you speech once again to the people who made it possible.

(FROM NORMAN)
For the Emcee.
Terry, thanks for gracing the evening with eloquence. It would have made a big difference without your presence on stage.

(FROM DAPHNE)
For the PR Sashays and the J-ushers.
Lincoln, Pauline, Terry and Bernie.
Jason, Jonathan and Justin
Superb job done. You pieced the guests together, made the operation smooth!

For the sisters and a helper.
Sarah, Jing, Echo, Yaoling and Jamie!!!
For everything that happened on the 21st June 2008! I feel fortunate to have you gals by my side. I doubt Norman and me would be able to cope by ourselves.

The long veil crisis....What better way to describe this?
For the benefit of those who didn't know what happened, this is a short summary.
I was suppose to wear an extremely long veil for the first march-in, but the makeup artist forgot all about it and left, we had to figure it our ourselves. Though the veil seems like a simple object to put on, it wasn't.
In fact, its proven to be the toughest challenge among the whole wardrobe given the nature of its length.
Before the last 15 minutes to the 1st march-in, there was seriously lots of panic in the changing room.

I feel evil for saying this, but I am secretly glad it happened because I think that its one of the best highlight of that night. It was fun watching everyone putting together their thinking caps and worked together so that I could do my first walk-in in perfection. It was really good! I was sitting there and watching the whole situation.
Echo was brilliant. Sarah was full of praises for her while clicking away with her camera, recording the crisis.
Jing Jing was extremely calm, composed and helpful. Jamie and Yaoling, you missed this bit, but there were some crisis in the changing room before the first march-in.... I even remembered yelling for my necklace at the very last moment. Heh.

So now, we know... PINS!!!!!! They are very important, do not belittle the littlest.

I heard that the morning sabo session proved challenging too. Applaud to Yaoling for coming out with funny ideas. I was hoping to see more sabo actions from the morning express videos, but... aiyah, didn't happened. Jamie, thanks for arriving so early in the morning to help out as well :) For Lili, thanks for coming early to chimjes and wanting to help out as well, there was not much opportunity, but I was glad you came and joined in the fun.
And now over to Norman....

(FROM NORMAN)
For the brudders.
Jerome, Alan, Yaoyang, Guosheng and Frey. All for one, and one for all.
I'm glad I don't have to face embarrassment alone.
Especially enjoy the butt writing bit, where we all shared a little "love" together.
The bride's more emotional, but my short speech doesn't means I am less sincere.
It just means I am a man of few words, spoken with grace. Haha.
Men of honor, graced and saved the day! :)

(FROM US)
For the photography team.
Stanley, Evelyn and Brice.
Everyone enjoyed the photos, all the comments that reached our ears were full of praises.
Or maybe the models helped? Hehe.

Thanks to Jerome for helping with the bridal car.

Thanks to Terry and Serene their help on the copy for our wedding cards.

From the newly wed,
Norman and Daphne,
Man and woman,
now officially united.
xxx.

White Coat Hypertension

White coat hypertension is a phenomenon in which patients exhibit elevated blood pressure in a clinical setting but not when recorded by themselves at home. It is believed that this is due to the anxiety some people experience during a clinic visit.

As the notion of "normal" is subjective and changes from individual to individual a reference measurement was necessary. As night-time and self measured values are often not subject to daily stress and clinical values are subject to unusual anxiety, daytime ambulatory blood pressure is used as a reference as it takes into account daily stress but not in excess. Due to specificity involved in diagnosis of white coat hypertension, many problems have been incurred in its diagnosis and treatment.

So near yet so far...

Wow, after so many years, I have managed to contact the family of my Nanny. Am glad they still remember me by my kiddy name "Ah Fai". The family took care of me when i was 3, up till 6 years old, that's when i got to report to PAP. I will be paying them a visit this CNY, they are over at Bedok Reservoir which is very near to where Im staying now. But sadly, age has caught up with my Nanny, Im prepared that she won't remember me at all... but i just want to see her and talk to her. Im glad that they are well, hope my Nanny is well too.
